Michelle Stroe
Board Member

Michelle is a board member of Hudson Valley HIEroes and a Hudson Valley native with a deep commitment to community, family, and justice. She is a mother of two young boys and brings both professional experience and lived perspective to her role on the board.

Michelle works in the legal field of public defense, where she is driven by a strong belief in fairness, accountability, and access to justice. Her work reflects a dedication to ensuring that systems serve people, especially those navigating complex and high-stakes moments.

Her connection to Hudson Valley HIEroes is personal, shaped by her son Luca’s HIE diagnosis at birth. This traumatic experience deepened her resolve to support families through compassionate, community-based care and to help ensure they feel informed, supported, and empowered.

Outside of her professional and advocacy work, Michelle values creativity, connection, and showing up for others in meaningful ways. She believes that children with HIE deserve every opportunity to thrive and every joy of childhood, and that justice, empathy, and community go hand in hand.
